Absinthe from France has a large tradition. It was nevertheless Henri Louis Pernod, who developed the world largest Absinthe distillery in France, after he had bought from the nurse Henriod the absinthe recipe. Absinthe from France has normally a higher anise content than absinthe from other countries. However exceptions confirm the rule. Drink absinthe from France usually with ice-cold water diluted, in order to receive the best Opalisation.
